Ceramic art and pot painting

Here are few ceramic work on pots, I also used m-seal and plaster of Paris:

This is a wall hanging made on playwood piece and was specially made for presentation. I had only one day and just wanted to give hand made gift instead of ready made,

This particular pot was thought by one of my lovely chikkamma, I call her akka, though she is very young and energetic;-) . It took me almost 3 months to finish this, since I had long breaks in between, If we sit continuously, It can be done in maximum 15 days. I just love this and planing to replicate one more. Looks beautiful in the corners of the main hall;-)

Above one is painted using ceramic tubes also the flowers I placed is a natural one painted in golden. In between blue flowers are made of socks material.

Tiny metallic pot:)

Hanging lamp. Just painted and did some mirror work.

Bottle guard art

I found another fruit just looked like bottle guard, which my grand father said they were used in preparing a typical Indian musical instrument called 'Pungi' .  It seems snakes will dance for that sound , I have seen in movies;-). I don't know the exact name of it. It was getting wasted in an old site, they had fired half of the dry plants. Here are few arts done using it:

Antique pot

Ceramic Vase

My yoga class experience

Recently I joined yoga class. It is a free yoga class thought by well experienced teachers. I had discontinued yoga since I fell into professional life. Now I am starting to experience how Important is yoga to body. Though I had heard and read about yoga from the childhood, it was only a theory. I started going to yoga classes in my college days, just to keep my body shape well. First day it was very painful all over body, since I joined middle of the batch . My body was so much adjusted to comforts, Within a week of regular exercise body started becoming loose and free. Especially after started Sun Salutation (Soorya Namaskara). For Rathasapthami we were to do 108 times, So we started increasing counts day by day. When it reached 60 leg was so painful, I could not sleep tonight. I applied coconut oil and rock salt mixture(Note: Best remedy for leg cramp, it vanished withing 10-15 minutes) and again I went to yoga class next day. Today on the special occasion of 'Rathasapthami, I was able to do 108 times Soorya Namaskara, without much stress. As we were doing we went on receiving energy. Surprisingly most of them said on this special day they were not tiered at all, usually they used to get little tired even though with regular practice. Now I feel active and throughout the day, it increases willingness as I experienced it. I am yet to explore this vast subject called 'yoga', as I experience more, I will share it here. I feel everyone must do this exercise(sun salutation) at least 5 minutes a day. With his energy whole earth is surviving, It is a small gratitude to our father(Sun). Also it is said that, it activates all the chakras and blood cells in our body and make it receptive.

DIY Newspaper Wall Hanging

Well this art is made out of newspaper rolls. I painted it with acrylic metallic colors. Metallic color gives metal string like effect. This is also very easy and anyone can do, but it consumes more time.

Method:
1) Take a medium sized mirror.
2) Cut the cardboard into mirror size and cut another one, one inch bigger than mirror (this is required to stick the paper rolls).
3) Now let us make paper rolls, cut the newspaper full sheet into 4 pieces vertically, Now roll it from corner, so that it takes maximum length.
4) Paint the rolls with metallic color.
5) Once it is dry cut the single roles into two pieces, one long and one little short(we would need total 30 rolls it depends on mirror size).
6) Keep a base and stick mirror size cardboard on the center of it, now stick a mirror upon that.
7) Stick the paper rolls one by one.
8) Finally decorate it with small mirrors and pearls.
9) For hanging it on wall stick a hook behind, I used metal hook which is used in photo frames.
